I have been a practicing Marriage & Family Therapist and board certified art therapist since 2008 in the San Francisco Bay Area. I received a Master's Degree from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA in 2010.
In my private practice, I provide psychotherapy for children, teens and families using a combination of Mindfulness-Based Art Therapy, Neurodevelopmental Art Therapy (NDAT) techniques for dealing with developmental and relational trauma, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which involves learning how to be psychologically flexible, and changing one's relationship.to the anxiety, depression, and trauma that are an inevitable part of life. In the age of COVID, learning resilience and self-compassion are key components on the path to mental, physical, and emotional wellness.
Periodically I provide art therapy trainings to staff and interns at Sunnyvale Behavioral Health, a satellite clinic of the Santa Clara Valley Health & Hospital System. I was a clinician at SBH from 2014 - 2016.
Currently a board member of Arts Unity Movement (AUM), a non-profit that promotes wellness and healing through the transformative power of the expressive and performing arts. I am also a recent past president of the Northern California Art Therapy Association (NorCATA). I am active with the California Art Therapy Advocacy Initiative whose goal is to increase advocacy efforts to increase visibility and demonstrate the value and efficacy of art therapy on a statewide level.
I am honored to provide free parenting and art therapy workshops at Sunday Friends in San Jose, a not-for-profit organization that empowers families to break the generational cycle of poverty by fostering positive development in children while educating and guiding parents to support their children's life success.
